Since 1989, the various Polo Tank subsidiaries outside Europe have been individual profit centers responsible for their own results. In order to be able to react faster and more flexibly to market changes in Germany, Polo Tank has nine tank terminals with a total capacity of around 1.7 million cbm. They are located in Rotterdam, Hamburg, Houston, Singapore. Through the subsequent acquisition of a facility in Hamburg (1997), the purchase of the Hanau tank terminal and a facility in Karlsruhe (1999), the purchase of the Waltershof tank terminal (2015), and the expansion of the Honau tank terminal (2008),Cheap Storage BV today operates 11 tank terminals with a total capacity of 2.375 million cbm.
Our Terminals and Tank locations vary from small gathering sites and large corporation storage units all across Houston, Rotterdam and Hamburg respectively, to the largest terminal in the world. Our tanks range in size from 40 to 60 feet high, and 150 to 270 feet in diameter, holding anywhere from 57,000 to 575,000 barrels of petroleum products. The size of the tank is determined by the design requirements of pipeline and refinery customers. Excellence in health and safety is an important value for our company. We strive to prevent all accidents, injuries and occupational illness. We work to harmonize our company-wide internal regulations and be more stringent about establishing the use of the best available techniques. Polo Tank transhipments are possible at Polo Tank terminal for chemicals, mineral oils and vegetable oils. We offer STS operations at our quay, with a maximum draught of 9.65 meters, for both non- and ADN classified products. Permitted product classes at our quay are ADN 3, ADN 6.1, ADN 8 and ADN 9.
